17-year-old Rudy Haddad had been in a coma after the attack Saturday evening by a group of several youths of Black African origin after leaving a Lubavitch synagogue in Buttes Chaumont, a multi-ethnic quarter in the 19th Paris district. Rudy Haddad, the Jewish teenager savagely beaten by a gang wielding metal bars came out of a coma Monday, hospital officials said. The 17-year-old had been in a coma after the attack Saturday evening by a group of several youths of Black African origin in Paris’ multi-ethnic 19th district. The hospital treating him said Monday his condition was “improving.” Five minors have been arrested, police said.

French Jewish organisations on Sunday condemned an anti-Semitic attack in Paris in which a Jewish teenager was severely beaten by a gang of five black African youths with metal bars. Sammy Ghozlan, head of the Bureau for Viligance on Anti-Semitism (BNVCA), which monitors anti-Semitic acts in te country, told EJP that a group of six or seven youths attacked the teenager with metal bars  and “smashed his skull.”
