NSW Police investigating video of cop’s shocking ‘go back to China’ rant at driver

A NSW police officer has been accused of racism after he was filmed telling a driver to “go back to China” before allegedly striking him. New South Wales police are investigating footage that appears to show a senior constable telling a driver to “go back to China” before reaching into his car and hitting him. The incident unfolded during a traffic stop on Marsden Rd in Carlingford in Sydney on Christmas Day, according to witness Caleb Strik, who filmed the entire exchange. A series of videos — including one of Mr Strik confronting the officer over his behaviour — have been collectively viewed more than a million times on social media since Tuesday. In the first clip, the senior constable, who is wearing a NSW Police Force vest, can he heard asking the driver where he is from. The man’s reply is inaudible. The officer is seen shaking his head before saying: “Go back to China.”
