RICHARD EDMONDS, one of Britain’s most notorious and fanatical neonazis, has died. He was a man of violence, who was involved in a succession of failed far-right political parties, including the National Front and the British National Party. Mr Edmonds, a comprehensive-school mathematics teacher, was sacked from his job because of his fanatical views and membership of the National Front. After the neonazi murder of Labour MP Jo Cox in the Yorkshire parliamentary constituency of Batley & Spen in 2016, Mr Edmonds stood as BNP candidate in the subsequent by-election. He polled 87 votes as Labour candidate Tracy Brabin took the seat with 86 per cent of the votes. Mr Edmonds lost his deposit. As a national organiser for the BNP, Mr Edmonds was the owner of the party’s London headquarters in Welling, a so-called “book shop.” During his residency there, four racist murders took place in the locality.
