Hunderte Zeitungen setzen Dilbert-Comic wegen Rassismus ab

In den USA haben Hunderte Publikationen die Dilbert-Comics abgesetzt, nachdem sein Schöpfer Scott Adams durch eine Hasstirade aufgefallen ist. Zahlreiche US-Zeitungen haben laut einem Bericht von CNN die Veröffentlichung des Comics Dilbert eingestellt, nachdem dessen Zeichner Scott Adams auf Youtube eine Tirade veröffentlicht hat, in der er schwarze Amerikaner als “Hassgruppe” bezeichnete und forderte, dass Weiße sich “verdammt noch mal” von ihnen fernhalten sollten. In den Comics von Dilbert wird vornehmlich die IT-Arbeitskultur karikiert. USA Today Network, zu dem Hunderte von Zeitungen gehören, teilte auf Twitter mit, dass es den Comic einstelle. Das gilt auch für die Washington Post und die Tageszeitung Plain Dealer in Cleveland. Sie alle kündigten laut dem Bericht von CNN an, den Comic nicht mehr zu veröffentlichen. Scott Adams äußerte sich einem Beitrag auf Youtube zu einer Umfrage des Meinungsforschungsinstituts Rasmussen Reports. Der Umfrage zufolge sollen stimmten 53 Prozent der schwarzen Amerikaner der Aussage “Es ist okay, weiß zu sein” zu. Laut CNN wurde die Umfrage 2017 von Mitgliedern des Forums 4chan verbreitet und auch von Rassisten verwendet.

Among other things, the Rasmussen poll found that 72% of the 1,000 American adults surveyed agreed with the statement, and that even a majority of Black people — 53% —  did as well. The poll also found that 79% of respondents agreed with the statement, “Black people can be racist, too,” including 66% of Black people. Adams focused on other data from the poll. He said it revealed that 26% of Black respondents said it’s “not OK to be White” and 21% said “they weren’t sure.” With a degree of amazement, Adams said: “That’s 47% of Blacks not willing to say it’s OK to be White. That’s like a real poll. This just happened.”
